Liu Zhizhi builds his visual language from the most fundamental elements of visual communication: geometric forms and relationships between colours.
Abstract geometric compositions possess their own visual vocabulary. Symmetry can evoke a sense of solemnity and balance, while radiating structures convey movement, energy and force.
When form and colour intertwine, visual elements become carriers of emotion, bringing rational composition and sensory expression into dialogue.
At the break of dawn, twilight blue hangs low above the horizon, still glowing with the last traces of starlight. Mountain stream grey emerges from the valleys, while jasmine white and glacier white convey a sense of gentle purity.
Cherry blossom pink and peach dew pink unfold across the centre of the rug, resembling summer peaches touched by morning dew and evoking a delicate sense of freshness.
Compositions of irregular rectangles resemble fragmented memories, appearing and dissolving across the surface.
Crafted from highland wool from Northern Tibet, the rug is woven with blended yarn by CHANGPHEL’s artisans and finished with carved weaving techniques. The result is a rich tactile surface with enhanced dimensional depth, bringing a gentle, enduring sense of restorative energy into everyday spaces.
